Zone Control System Services

Central forced air climate control systems are great for keeping your home comfortable all year round. However, they are not perfect systems. There are a couple of drawbacks that are intrinsic to using central systems. Chief among these drawbacks is the inability to modulate output for different rooms in the house.

Centralized systems apply the same amount of output across the entire house, which would be fine if every room in the house had the same heating or cooling needs. This is unfortunately not the case. For one thing, the differences in insulation between rooms cause them to warm up or cool off at different rates from each other. For another, each member of the household might be comfortable at different temperatures than each other. If you want to solve this problem, a zone control system is the best way to do it. Call T&H Mechanical Systems today to set up a zone control appointment. We offer a full range of zone control services.

What Is a Zone Control System?

A zone control system is a series of dampers installed in the ducts of the home. These dampers are like large valves, which can open or close to control the flow of air through the ducts. Each zone has its own thermostat, which is installed in the nearest room. Each thermostat is set separately from the others. When an individual thermostat detects the need for heat or air conditioning, it opens the appropriate damper and activates the system. This allows various rooms in your home to receive climate control without actually affecting the rest of the house.

How Zone Control can Benefit You

Zone control offers you an unprecedented level of control over your climate control systems. Rather than applying a “one–size–fits–all” solution to the entire home, zone control allows you to direct the flow of warm or cool air only to the rooms that specifically need it. This makes your home more comfortable, as well as more energy efficient. No more wasting output on rooms that don’t actually need it at the time, like empty ones. You can ensure that your climate control systems only stay on long enough to affect the zones that need them.

We Install & Service Zone Control Systems

Installing a zone control system is a bit complicated. Obviously, it requires significant alterations to the ductwork, as well as a lot of electrical work to install the new thermostats. Don’t worry, though. You don’t have to deal with any of that personally. If you want one installed in your home, trust us to handle it for you. Our experts have many years of experience installing and servicing these unique systems.

Making sure that your zone control works properly doesn’t end at installation, though. You should call for repairs as soon as you suspect that something is wrong with your zone control system. The faster that we can get to your system, the more damage we can prevent. We also offer a full range of maintenance services.
